EPDM membranes · Fewer joins · Low maintenance
Flexible, low-maintenance rubber roofing for garages, extensions, outbuildings and commercial spaces across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

What J5 delivers
EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer—a synthetic rubber membrane used on flat and low-slope roofs. Its flexibility, weather resistance and clean finish make it a practical choice for many extensions, garages and outbuildings.
J5 installs EPDM with attention to the base, fit and detailing. A membrane can cover a wide area with relatively few joins, but the finish still depends on careful preparation and sound edges, outlets and roof-window details. The team explains what is being fitted and why before work starts.
EPDM is designed to cope with rain, UV exposure and seasonal temperature changes when correctly installed.
Large membrane sheets can reduce the number of joins compared with some traditional covering approaches.
The smooth finish needs less upkeep than many older systems, although sensible periodic checks are still recommended.

The J5 approach
Even a proven roofing material can be let down by rushed preparation or poor detailing. J5 considers the deck, edges, outlets, flashing and any roof lanterns or skylights as part of the job, helping the finished system work as one coherent roof.

Useful answers
EPDM is commonly used on flat or low-slope roofs such as garages, home extensions, outbuildings and some commercial properties. It suits projects where a durable, weather-resistant and relatively low-maintenance covering is wanted.
A professionally installed EPDM roof can last for decades, but lifespan depends on the deck condition, installation quality, detailing, exposure and care. J5 can explain the expected system and any applicable guarantee for your job.
It is generally low maintenance compared with many older flat roof coverings. Periodic checks are still useful, especially around edges, outlets, roof windows and adjoining details where small changes can be spotted early.
